We are proud to be hosting Eurovision Young Musicians in 2024. Bodø is European Capital of Culture this year. This is the first time a city in the Arctic and High North has the honor of hosting EYM and holding this title. For a city up here in the High North, this is not something that happens every day.

You may have been told stories about the Arctic and its great nature, but you will discover that this is a region of engaged people and lots of interesting activities. We have a rich cultural life, both among professionals and amateurs. EYM can be seen as a part of this cultural life while taking place in Stormen Concert Hall, which has its ten-year anniversary in 2024.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you who will be visiting Bodø and are involved in this event, and we believe this will be a time none of you will forget. Through this competition young musicians will be able to showcase their talent to all of Europe, and I especially want to wish the young artists good luck and all the best in the coming competition.

Vibeke Fürst Haugen,
Director General NRK

It is part of NRK's mission to showcase the variety of Norwegian and international musical life. Through European Young Musicians, we have the opportunity to present performances at the highest level.

It is a crucial task for us to highlight this part of the musical landscape. Here in Bodø, we get to showcase young individuals who give their all for their passion and work tirelessly to achieve their goals.

EYM has contributed to launching significant international careers, and it continues to be a source of inspiration and growth.

In addition to being a prestigious competition, EYM is also a venue for friendships and musical connections that participants will carry with them throughout their lives. This community is an essential part of the power of music – it brings us together across borders and cultures.

We are incredibly proud that NRK is hosting one of the world's most important music competitions this year, and we are delighted to organize it in collaboration with Capital of Culture Bodø2024.

The participating countries have selected their very best young musicians, and it is our duty to ensure that the participants and the delegations accompanying them have a memorable stay here in Bodø.

This is the first time EYM is being held in the Arctic, and we have much to showcase. The setting and opportunities here in the north couldn't be better. We are confident that both the participants and the audience will be inspired by the magnificent nature and the hospitality that characterize Bodø.

To all participants, we wish you the best of luck! May the music flow freely and inspire both you and all of us.
